Good Day

So today I went to my family doctor to talk about my migraines and my not sleeping. And my anxiety and stress issues were brought up.. "Sharon you're a very anxious person, I can see it in your eyes. Are you also stressed out a lot, sometimes in a depressed mood?" The answer I wanted to give was "uh duh! I get migraines every damn day and my neuro gave up on me, who wouldn't be stressed and depressed".. But I calmly explained that yes, I am stressed and anxious every day, and I get depressed on occasion. So he gave me a prescription for an anti anxiety medicine. He also gave me some sleeping pills to try to get my body back in a good sleeping pattern. He thinks the combination will help with my migraines.

He also is referring me to a new neurologist, who he says is a little strange but makes very good decisions. He'll be trying to get me in soon. I feel good about way the visit went. He listened to me and didn't try to just speed through the talk. He did some blood work to make sure everything is going okay there.

So I have hope. And THAT is so important when you struggle with a chronic pain condition.
